An area meeting may communicate formally by minute with its constituent local meetings, with any general meeting or Quaker gathering (5.02) to which it belongs (including Crynwyr Cymru – Quakers in Wales (5.04–5.05) or Quakers in Scotland (5.03) where appropriate), with Yearly Meeting (6.08) and with meetings with which it does business through its representatives appointed to joint committees. The area meeting has an obligation to receive minutes from those bodies. There may occasionally be circumstances in which it will be helpful to circulate other minutes for information only.
