Area meetings should make a clear distinction between those burial grounds which are available for further burials and those which should be regarded as closed, or available only for the interment of ashes. The scattering of ashes is permitted in closed burial grounds (see 17.11–17.13). Advice on the opening and closing of burial grounds may be obtained from the Recording Clerk.
