The marriage schedule should be delivered to the registering officer as soon as possible after it is obtained.

In no case can a marriage be solemnised without the production of the correct document.

In any case where one, or both, of the couple is resident outside Great Britain, or is a foreign citizen, there may be additional civil formalities which have to be completed.
